Ettrick, VA - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon baseball team took to the diamond for the first time on Tuesday afternoon, traveling south to take on NCAA Division II Virginia State University. The Hornets kicked off the season in a big way, defeating the host Trojans 7-3 in the first game of the doubleheader. Lyndon nearly completed the sweep, but fell 5-4 in 10 innings in the nightcap. With the split, Virginia State moved to 6-4 on the season.
