Castine, ME - Top seed Maine Maritime Academy jumped on fourth seed Northern Vermont University-Lyndon right from the onset of Tuesday evening's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball quarterfinal.  The Mariners scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back, rolling to a 100-34 victory.  MMA improved to 20-6 on the season.  The Mariners will advance to play second seed Husson University, an 87-61 winner over three seed University of Maine at Presque Isle in Friday's second quarterfinal.  Lyndon closed the season at 10-15.

The Mariners continued to pull away following the game opening burst.  They built a 51-17 lead at intermission, as Lyndon was unable to get anything going all game.
