Lyndonville, VT - Husson University jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 94-65 victory over Vermont State University Lyndon in the North Atlantic Conference men's basketball opener for both teams. The Eagles remained unbeaten in six contests this season, while the Hornets are winless in eight outings.
Jeremy Moronta topped five Husson players who hit double figures, notching a double double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Derek Colloin added 13 points and Riles Neff, Andre McCauley, and Eric Ahlers all tallied 12 points. Neff dished out a game high nine assists.
Lyndon's Peyton Olsen (Middleburgh, NY) led all scorers with a game high 23 points. Tavarius Vance (Barre, VT) and Owen Traynor (Rutland, VT) added 12 and 11 points respectively for the Hornets.
The two teams will square off again Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm in Stannard Gymnasium.
