Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball team closed out the season by hosting Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately for the home team, the six-time defending North Atlantic Conference champion Mariners made quick work of the Hornets, posting a straight set victory by scores of 25-1, 25-12, 25-9. MMA improved to 17-5 on the season and finished conference play unbeaten at 10-0. Lyndon finished 2-19 and 2-8 in the NAC.
The Mariners received contributions up and down the lineup. Ally Hadley and Ila Smith led the way with seven kills each. Annabel Frieden and Katie Albritton added 14 and 11 assists respectively, and Sydney Rich chipped in with 12 digs.
Leilani Medina (Laredo, TX) had a pair of kills for Lyndon. Briona Graham (Port Arthur, TX) recorded a team best seven digs and added a pair of assists and a kill. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) also had a pair of assists and a kill, and three digs.
The Hornets don't graduate anyone off of the 2023 roster and next year will look to build on the steps forward that the team made this season.
