Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

New England College outguns Hornet women's lacrosse

Henniker, NH - New England College scored the first 10 goals of the game, then cruised past Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 20-1, in Monday evening's non-conference women's lacrosse game.  With the win, the Pilgrims even their record at 2-2 on the season.  The Hornets fall to 0-2.

Alexandria Safford paced NEC with six goals.  Lauren Rich added three goals, an assist, five ground balls, and 10 draw controls.  Tailor Chapin, Haley Barnacz, and Nathalie Antigua each had two goals and two assists for the Pilgrims.  Katie Cushing (St. Johnsbury, VT) scored her first collegiate goal for the Hornets.  Yasmin Molina (Morristown, NJ) picked up the assist.

McKenzie Gallasso and Carleigh Knotts each played a half in goal for NEC, with Gallasso earning the win.  Paige Daley (Pleasant Valley, NY) made four saves in goal for the Hornets.

NEC outshot Lyndon, 32-9, and had a 29-10 advantage in ground balls.  The Pilgrims won 18 of 25 draws and converted five of six free position shote, while the Hornets failed to convert any of their three free positions.  NEC was whistled for 24 fouls to seven for Lyndon.

The Hornets will be on the road again on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Mitchell College for a 4:00 pm non-conference matchup.
