Johnson, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, as the Hornets dropped a pair of North Atlantic Conference matches at rival Northern Vermont University-Johnson. The Badgers improved to 9-10 overall and 3-5 in NAC play, while the Hornets finished winless in 23 contests, including 8 conference matches.
NVU-Johnson 3, NVU-Lyndon 0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-12)
Christina Betham led Johnson with 11 kills. Mason Lores recorded 18 assists, and Jimmi Lynn Williams and Max Ludlow tallied 12 and 11 digs respectively for the Badgers. Calysta Lohman (Seward, AK) led Lyndon with five kills. Charlotte Morris (Middletown, DE) had six digs and Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) added four assists and four digs for the Hornets.
NVU-Johnson 3, NVU-Lyndon 0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-15)
Natalia Medina led a balanced Badger attack with six kills and Betham added five kills. Loras again had 18 assists and Williams topped Johnson with eight digs. Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) had three kills for Lyndon. Morris recorded a team best six digs and Caitlin Haggett (St. Johnsbury, VT) added five digs. Porter chipped in three assists and three digs.
The Hornets Now turn their attention to 2023. With only two seniors, Porter and Emma Mann (Fort Worth, TX), graduating, the Hornets hope that the experience gained this season will be the catalyst for the program to make steps forward next season.
