Northfield, VT – Northern Vermont University-Lyndon was unable to get much going on either end of the floor against Norwich University on Wednesday evening. The host Cadets gradually pulled away for a 97-77 non-conference men's college basketball victory. Norwich improves to 6-3 on the season, while Lyndon falls to 1-7.
Spencer Conaster connected on five of six three-point attempts on the way to a 20-point outing for Norwich. Kyle Booth posted a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Owen Liss and Jalen Olivero added 16 and 15 points respectively.
Zach Falkenburg (Bridgeport, NY) paced Lyndon with a game high 22 points and 10 rebounds. Max Milton (Ithaca, NY) finished with 19 points and Mondwell Bukle (Pyeongtaek, South Korea) chipped in with 16 points.
The Cadets shot well from the field, converting 37 of 62 field goals 59.7%), including 10 of 21 (47.6%) from behind the three-point arc. The Hornets made 31 of 69 attempts (44.9%), including nine of 26 (34.6%) from distance. Norwich also owned a 34-23 rebounding advantage.
The Hornets close out the fall semester with a pair of games in Northern New York this weekend. On Saturday they will tip off at SUNY Potsdam at 3:00 pm. On Sunday, they will play at Clarkson University at noon.
