Box Score

Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon senior Alissa Mitchell (Milton, NH) scored a career high 31 points but it wasn't enough as the Hornets dropped Saturday's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game to Thomas College, 67-59.  The Terriers improve to 5-9 on the season and remain unbeaten in four conference starts.  The Hornets fall to 4-9 overall and remain winless in four NAC contests.

After taking a four point advantage into halftime, Thomas scored the first eight points of the third quarter on back to back three-point goals from Kaylee Ravagli and Karli Stubbs, followed by an Addie Brinkman jumper.  The Terriers maintianed their double digit advantage going into the fourth quarter.  Another Stubbs three with 7:05 to go gave Thomas their biggest lead at 59-38.  The Hornets then chipped away, but never got closer than the eight point final margin.

Malorie Weaver was 10/16 from the floor, scoring 20 points and grabbing a game high eight rebounds to lead Thomas.  Stubbs and Ravagli also reached double figures, finishing with 19 and 18 points respectively.  Mitchell was the only Hornet in double figures, going 11/15 from the floor, 4/7 from the three-point line, and 5/8 from the foul line to account for her 31 points.  Ashlynn Bardos (Beaumont, CA) grabbed a team best seven rebounds.

Thomas made 27 of their 55 field goal attempts (49.1%), including nine of 21 (42.9%) from distance.  Lyndon was 19/54 from the floor, including 4/12 from long range.  The Terriers outrebounded the Hornets 39-30, and overcame 25 turnovers to come away with the win.

The same two teams will play again on Friday evening, this time at Thomas.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
