Lyndonville, VT - Visiting University of Maine at Farmington used a big third quarter to take control of Friday night's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The Beavers then held off the Hornets in the final period to come away with a 59-50 victory.  With the win UMF remains unbeaten at 3-0 in the NAC and evens their overall record at 6-6.  The Hornets fall to 0-3 in conference and 4-8 on the season.

With the game tied at 30-30 at the half, Rylee Moore (Livermore, ME) connected on a pair of jumpers to open the third quarter and give Lyndon a four point lead.  UMF would respond by outscoring the Hornets 19-2 over the rest of the quarter to take control of the game.  Back to back three-pointers from Chelsea Crockett highlighted the run for the Beavers.  Paige Brown's jumper just over two minutes into the final quarter extended the advantage to 15 before Lea Crompton (Dunbarton, NH) connected on a jumper to end an almost 11 minute Hornet scoring drought.  Lyndon could get no closer than eight the rest of the way, as the Beavers cruised to the win.

McKenna Brodeur notched a double double to lead UMF.  She finished wiht 16 points and ten rebounds.  Alex Bessey added 11 points and four assists and Crocket finished with ten points for the Beavers.  Ashlynn Bardos (Beaumont, CA) was the only Hornet in double figures, as she finished wiht 14 points.

The Hornets return to action on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm when they host Thomas College in another NAC matchup.
