Hornet women's lacrosse falls to Norwich on Senior Day

Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's lacrosse team fell to Norwich University, 21-3, in a non-conference matchup on Monday.  The Cadets improve to 7-8 on the season with the win, while the Hornets remain winless in 11 games this season.

Brynn Mendes paced Norwich with four goals and 15 draw controls.  Kate Winstanley added three goals and caused three turnovers, while Mary-Kait Mace and Michaila Furchak scored two gaols apiece.

For Lyndon, Felisha Olmstead (St. Johnsbury, VT) scored two goals and recorded a team best three ground balls.  Olmstead also picked up an assist on the Hornets' other goal, which was scored by Michaela Columbia (Orleans, VT).

Norwich outshot Lyndon 40-5 and held a 21-5 advantage in draw controls.  Lyndon goalie Zoe Pierce-Olhson (Gales Ferry, CT) made 11 stops in front of the cage, while Cadet goalie Lwson Hayes was only called upon to make two stops.

Prior to the game, the Hornets recognized Olmstead, their lone senior, and a member of the women's lacrosse program since its inception in 2017.

The Hornets will conclude their season with a home North Atlantic Conference game against Thomas College on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
