Hornet women's lacrosse can't keep up with UMaine-Farmington

Northfield, VT - The University of Maine at Farmington scored ten times in the first 10:34 of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse game, and went on to post a 21-3 win over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The game was played at Norwich University's Sabine Field.  With the win, the Beavers improve to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in NAC play.  The Hornets remain winless in two conference games and eight starts overall.

Isabella Monbouquette had a huge game to pace UMF.  She finished with eight goals and three assists.  Kaya Backman added three goals and five assists and Nicole Schofield recorded a game high six draw controls for the Beavers.

Michaela Columbia (Orleans, VT), Camryn Kruger (Acushnet, MA), and Tori McCormack (East Lyme, CT) had the Lyndon goals.  Bayla Stewart (Newport, VT) assisted on Columbia and Kruger's goals, while McCormack scored on a free position shot.

The Beavers outshot the Hornets 43-8.  The Hornets committed 25 turnovers, compared to 12 for UMF.  Hornet goalie Zoe Pierce-Olhson (Gales Ferry, CT) made 11 saves, while Beaver goalies Heather Boland and Lydia Wasina combined for three stops.

The Hornets will host Thomas College on Wednesday in another NAC matchup.  The location and start time will be determined early next week.
