Castine, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's soccer completed their weekend Maine swing with a game at North Atlantic Conference leading Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon.  The Hornets were unable to slow down the Mariners and came up on the short end of a 6-0 result.  Lyndon falls to 1-10 on the season and -15 in conference, while Maine Maritime improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in NAC play.

Goals 32 seconds apartr from Eryn Doiron and Kelsea Anair staked the Mariners to a 2-0 lead just over 11 minutes into the game.  Lyndon's Rachel Palladino (Manlius, NY) had a chance to get the Hornets on the board in the 22nd minute, but she was turned away by Marnier goalkeeper Bess MacArthur.  Doiron then added two more goals in the 25th and 27th minutes to make it 4-0 Mariners.  The Hornets's Kelsey Holland (Pembroke, NH) had a good scoring opportunity in the 30th minute, but MacArthur again came up with the save.

Maine Maritime's Gabbie Guinto put the hosts in front 5-0 in the 51st minute when she scored with an assist from Kelsey Bern.  In the 63rd minute Margot Simeon fed Dioron, who converted for her fourth goal of the game to complete the scoring.

Maine Maritime outshot the Hornets, 26-3, and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.  Lyndon goalkeeper Lauren Young (Concord, VT) made nine saves while MacArthur made three stops to post the clean sheet and earn the win.
