Box Score 3 Alfred, NY - The Lyndon State College women's volleyball team made the 7-1/2 hour trek to Alfred State College to compete in a non-conference quad match this weekend. Things did not go well for the Hornets, as they suffered 3-0 defeats to Cazenovia College and Penn State-Behrend on Saturday and to the host Saxons on Sunday. Lyndon falls to 0-7 on the season.
The Hornets opened play against Cazenovia on Saturday evening, with the Wildcats coming away with a 25-15, 25-11, 25-7 victory. Junior Courtney Gagne (Plainfield, MA) was Lyndon's top performer with two assists and five digs.
Things didn't get any better in Saturday's nightcap, as the Lions cruised to a 25-7, 25-7, 25-8 win. Gagne again recorded five digs for Lyndon.
The Hornets wrapped up play on Sunday morning against host Alfred State. The Saxons rolled to a 25-2, 25-7, 25-5 victory. Junior Faith Richard (Acushnet, MA) and junior Meghan Campo (Essex Junction, VT) recorded three digs each for Lyndon.
Lyndon opens North Atlantic Conference play on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm when they host Johnson State College in Stannard Gymnasium.
