Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – Saturday afternoon the Lyndon State College women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-1 loss to Colby-Sawyer in North Atlantic Conference play.
Colby-Sawyer's Nicole Lavigne (Berlin, Vt.) led all players with eight points on seven goals and an assist. She added six draw controls. Sierra Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) filled the stat sheet with six goals, an assist, 10 draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers.
The Hornets received their lone goal from Felisha Olmstead (St. Johnsbury, Vt.). Mikayla Hodge (Newbury, Vt.) had the assist on the goal and added three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. Carmen Mears (Barre, Vt.) picked up a team best of five ground balls.
Meghan Castellano (Wallingford, Conn.) made eight saves to improve to 6-0. Lyndon goalie Samantha Turgeon (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had eight saves in the first half, while Amanda Hadley (Rutland, Vt.) played the second half with one save.
Lyndon falls to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the conference. The Hornets will host Castleton on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the NAC. The Chargers will wrap up a five-game home stand on Tuesday with a 4:30 p.m. game against Fitchburg State.
