Box Score 2 LEICESTER, Mass. – The Lyndon State College women's volleyball team traveled to Becker College to face Mass Maritime Academy and Becker, splitting their day. Early in the day they prevailed over MMA 3-1, but were then swept by Becker 3-0.
GAME 1: Mass Maritime Academy
Four close sets were held between MMA and Lyndon. Lyndon took the first two 25-22 and 25-20. MMA was able to rally off a 26-24 upset in set three, but Lyndon prevailed with a 25-19 victory to close out the match with a 3-1 win.
GAME 2: Becker College
The Hornets showed a solid performance in the first set but fell short to a 26-24 Becker upset.
In the second set, the Hornets went on a 5-0 run and stayed ahead until Becker was able to tie it up 16-16. Becker then continued from there with the 25-20 win.
Fatigue set in for the Hornets as Becker would finish out the third set with a 25-9 victory.
Lauren McDonough (Glastonbury, Conn.) ended the game with seven kills and fifteen digs. Gwyneth Stahl (Whitinsville, Mass.) added eleven assists and seventeen digs.
Lyndon hosts St. Joseph's of Vermont on Wednesday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m.
