JOHNSON, Vt. – Nearing the end of their season, the Lyndon State women's basketball team traveled to Johnson State College Saturday afternoon, allowing Johnson the 78-37 victory.

Lyndon's Mikayla Hodge (Newbury, Vt.) gained herself another double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Allison Brown (Monroe, N.H.) also chipped in 13 points along with 4 rebounds.

Johnson had five players in double digits with Allyson Bruckner (Barnet, Vt.) and Amanda Bednarick (North Kingston, R.I.) at the head of the pack with 16 points each accompanied by 13 and 4 rebounds, respectively.

The first quarter started off with a layup from Johnson's Kasey DeGreenia (Concord, Vt.).  Brown, soon after, knocked in a shot beyond the arc for Lyndon.  Johnson then went on a 9-0 run until Brown was fouled, sinking both free throws.  In the final three minutes, Lyndon was able to cash in 10 to Johnson's 5, trailing Johnson 16-15.

Johnson's full court press held Lyndon idle at three points throughout the second quarter.  Johnson owned the board with 19 points, ending the half up 35-18.

The second half continued to play out like the second quarter as Johnson sustained their full court press throughout the rest of the game, creating many turnovers and limiting Lyndon offensively.  The host team cruised to gain the 78-37 victory.

Lyndon (4-18, 3-13 NAC) travels to Castleton University on Thursday, February 18 with a 5:30 p.m. tip.

Johnson (11-12, 8-8 NAC) will travel to Green Mountain College on Thursday as well.
