Hornets fall to Maritime

CASTINE, Maine – Lyndon fell to North Atlantic Conference foe Maine-Maritime on Friday after being ahead by one point at the half.


Lyndon's Aimee Thompson led all Hornet scorers with 16 points while Mariners guard Kristi Willey led the way for Maine-Maritime with 21. Both Sarah Cornell and Mikayla Hodge had 8 points and one block, but it was not enough.


The Mariners outscored Lyndon 45-20 in the second half, shooting 60 percent from the field. Lyndon, after shooting 37 percent in the first half, shot just 12 percent in the second half, leading to 67-43 loss.


With the loss the Hornets are now 3-12 overall and 2-7 in NAC action. The Mariners improve to 6-10 overall and 3-6 in NAC play.

 
Lyndon's next game will be Saturday when they take on another NAC member, Husson University. That game gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
