Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Lyndon women's volleyball team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 non-conference loss to Norwich University Wednesday at Andrews Hall Gym.
Kelsey Mancini and Tara Lyons led the Cadets with eight kills each as Norwich (9-8) won in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-19 and 25-12.
Alex Palmer had six kills for the Cadets, while Katherine Crane had 18 assists to pace the offense. Lyons led Norwich with four service aces. Palmer and Alex Ruediger led Norwich's defensive efforts with six digs, while Corinne Baita had four digs.
Lyndon State (6-9) was led by two kills each from Joy Piper (Belmont, N.H.) and Kelleigh Murtagh (Merrimack, N.H.). Piper had nine digs and Laura Drake (Hinsdale, Mass.) picked up eight digs to lead the Hornets defensively.
The Hornets will remain idle until Saturday, Oct. 18 when they travel to Castine, Maine for a tri-match with Husson University and the Maine Maritime Academy. Lyndon's first match will get underway at 10 a.m.
