JOHNSON, Vt. - Lyndon opened its North Atlantic Conference season on a high note with a sweep of a tri-match held at Johnson State College. The Hornet blanked the Badgers 3-0 before besting Green Mountain by the identical match score.

In the opener, Gwyneth Stahl (Whitinsville, Mass.) led the way offensively posting six kills, three assists, three service aces, six digs and one block. Abbey Greene (Exeter, R.I) chipped in four kills, one assist, two aces and four digs while Ashley Barski (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had four kills, one assist, one ace and a team-high 15 digs in the winning effort.

Lyndon won the match by set scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-16.

In the nightcap against the Eagles, Laura Drake (Hinsdale, Mass.) had six kills, three assists, two aces, seven digs and one block as the Hornets pulled off the sweep. Kelleigh Murtagh (Merrimack, N.H.) had six kills, three assists, two digs and two blocks for the winners while Green added three kills, three assists, six aces and four digs.

Lyndon took the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-8.

The Hornets (6-8, 2-0) return to action Wednesday when it faces Norwich University on the road at 7 p.m.
