Box Score 2 POULTNEY, Vt. – After dropping its opening match of the day to Green Mountain, by a score of 3-1, Lyndon rebounded to defeat rival Castleton State 3-2 in a tri-match held on the Eagles home court.
Green Mountain used the strength of 20 service aces as it defeated Lyndon 3-1. Green Mountain received seven service aces from Jennifer Seredejko and four each from Sarah Davidson and Celeste Bowers. Bowers also dug up a match-high 20 digs while Seredejko assisted on 22 kills.
Hayley Provost led the Eagles on the attack with 10 kills while providing a block assist. Megan Roy and Torie Cowell each provided five kills. Madison Wage was a force at the net registering four total blocks.
Lyndon was led by Morgan Diltz (Moultonborough, N.H.) who contributed a nice all-round game with a team-high eight kills and 18 digs. Joy Piper (Belmont, N.H.) and Gwyneth Stahl (Whitinsville, Mass.) were a tough tandem on defense at the net pairing for three total blocks each. Stahl led the Hornets with 19 assists in the loss.
In the matchup versus the Spartans, Diltz and Abbey Greene (Exeter, R.I.) had 10 kills to lead the Hornets to victory. Diltz also collected three aces and 13 digs while greene chipped iin two aces and 18 digs. Stahl had a game-high 23 assists in the match.
