Eagles defeat Hornets

Box Score

BANGOR, Maine – IN front of a sizeable Homecoming crowd, Husson blanked Lyndon to improve to 4-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 versus North Atlantic Conference opponents.

Starting the scoring early for the Eagles was senior captain Becca Jones (Newmarket, NH) who sailed in a ball from Lacey Kent-Webber. Husson grabbed the 1-0 in just under five minutes of play.

Although the Eagles dominated ball control and scoring opportunities their next goal would not come until the 36th minute when Courtney Hill scored her fourth goal of the season. Earning the assist was the combined efforts of Jones and M.J. Boyce.

The Eagles rode their 2-0 lead into halftime and picked up right where they left off in the 2nd half, seeing Boyce score her own goal of the game with Hill grabbing the assist. Boyce passed it to Hill in front of the net, and Hill returned the favor by playing the ball back to Boyce who sunk the ball into the net passed Lyndon keeper Emily Strese (gilmanton, N.H.).

In the 72nd minute of the game Whitney Cross scored directly off her own corner kick, sealing the victory at 4-0. Strese made eight saves for the Hornets. Junior Husson goalkeeper Jess Poulin made two saves in the shutout.
