Box Score 2 LEICESTER, Mass. - Lyndon walked away from the
Becker Tri-match with a split of its two matches to raise its
overall record to 2-7 on the season.
In the opening match, the Hornets fell to the Hawks by a score
of 3-0. Becker won the match by set scores of 25-19, 25-16 and
25-11.
Christine Bailey (Lyndonville, Vt.) led Lyndon with six kills
while Erica Ponte (Westport, Mass.) had four. Jaclyn Brett
(Weymouth, Mass.) chipped in six assists and teammed with Ponte and
Maegen Fried (Great Falls, Mont.) to collect two service aces each.
Fried also had a team-high six digs in the match.
In the nightcap, Lyndon outlasted arch-rival Johnson State by a
score of 3-1. The Hornets earned the victory by set scores of
25-22, 25-18, 25-27 and 25-21.
Fried amassed 12 kills and 11 digs in the match while Bailey
added seven kills and two assists. Ally Ciaramitaro (Melrose,
Mass.) had nine assists and nine digs for the winners and Ponte
served up seven aces.
