LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Winless in its first five starts, the Lyndon women's volleyball team earned its first victory of the season Saturday with a 3-0 win over rival Johnson State.

The Hornets won the match by set scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18.

Maegan Fried (Great Falls, Mont.) led the way with 10 kills and four service aces while teammate Erica Ponte (westport, Mass.) chipped in six kills and four digs. Christine Bailey (Lyndonville, Vt.) had five kills and four digs for Lyndon and Ally Ciaramitaro (Melrose, Mass.) collected a match-high five assists.

Jessica Pafumi led the Badgers with a six-kill, five-dig effort and Chelsea Vaillincourt had three kills and three digs. Emma Porrett had two assists for the Badgers while Kylie Van Etten had a team-high four service aces and six digs.
