Keith Holmes Jr. was hired as an assistant basketball coach in July of 2026.  Holmes has built his coaching experience through work with student-athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels.  Coach Holmes was a men’s assistant coach with Catholic High School in Virginia Beach, VA during the 2023-2024 season and helped lead that team to a 25-9 record.  The following season he coached at Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA, helping that team to a record of 17-8.  His background includes individual skill development, small-group workouts, team practices, game preparation, scouting, video analysis, and player development.

Holmes was a former player at Division II Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, NC.  He brings firsthand experience and an understanding of the commitment required to compete at the next level.  His coaching approach focuses on developing fundamentals, basketball IQ, confidence, discipline, and overall growth while helping student-athletes reach their potential on and off the court.

Holmes earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Lees-McRae in 2022.
