Dr. Katie Bouley was appointed as Northern Vermont University-Lyndon's Faculty Athletics Representative in August of 2021.

Dr. Bouley earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA in 2005.  In her senior year, she served as a research assistant in the Plant, Soil, and Insect Sciences Department.  After graduation, she worked in the Microbiology Laboratory at Baystate Medical Center as a laboratory assistant and continued in this role for 6 years while pursuing graduate degrees.

Dr. Bouley continued her education at Springfield College in Springfield, MA, where she earned a master's degree in exercise physiology in 2008.  Her thesis research focused on the relationship between body fat percentage and athletic performance.  She then earned a Ph.D. in exercise physiology in 2012.  Her doctoral research focused on the effects of shivering during the precooling response prior to running.  While at Springfield College, Dr. Bouley earned a Graduate Assistantship position and had the opportunity to teach Exercise Physiology labs, Bioscience labs, and a Wellness course.  She has also published multiple abstracts in the ACSM journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.

In 2010, Dr. Bouley began teaching at NVU-Lyndon, then Lyndon State College.  She has served as chair of Lyndon's highly acclaimed Exercise Science Department since 2014.  She also developed the Exercise Physiology Laboratory and continues to serve as the director of the laboratory space.  She also facilitates and supervises student research on campus, and oversees the Exercise Science Student Mentor Program.  In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, and spending time with her family.
