Vermont State University Lyndon named Chris Chichester, Class of 2021, its Head Cross Country Coach in June of 2024.
Chichester was one of Lyndon's most accomplished runners during his time as an undergraduate. Â He was the North Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2021 and two-time NAC All-Conference selection, earning 1st Team honors in 2019 and 2nd Team honors in 2021. Â He was named the Hornets' Most Valuable Runner in both 2019 and 2021, and received the Coaches Award in 2020, when the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chichester also excelled in the classroom at Lyndon. Â He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. Â Chichester received the Lyndon athletic department Green & Gold Award for 2021-2022, which is awarded to the male student athlete with the highest grade point average.
Chichester has also made his mark in running circles throughout the Northeast. Â In 2021, he finished first in his age group in the Utica Boilermaker 15K Road Race, which annually attracts a field of over 15,000 runners. Â He was also the Northern Border Running Club's 2023Â Run the North 5k Series Champion.
Chichester provides computer technology support for several area schools.  He also makes maple syrup and constructed his own sugar house in 2020, and has been an Airbnb Superhost since 2021.
