Anderson and Anderson named to Softball Academic All-District Team

Lyndonville, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon softball players Emily Anderson (Levittown, NY) and Seairra Anderon (Somersworth, NH) have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday.

Emily Anderson is a senior Applied Psychology & Human Services major with a 3.56 grade point average.  She pitched and played the outfield for the Hornets this season, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player.  She made 16 appearances in the circle, with 13 starts.  She also struck out 27 batters in 62 innings and led the Hornets with three pitching victories.  At the plate Anderson hit .200 with a .240 on base percentage and a pair of runs batted in.  Al totaled, she played in 27 games with 25 starts.

Seairra Anderson is a senior Music Business Industry major with a concentration in Production.  She was recently selected as the North Atlantic Conference West Division All-Conference 3rd Baseman.  Anderson batted .312 with 14 runs batted in for the season.  She finished her Lyndon career with 105 base hits, the most by a Lyndon player since Lyndon rejoined NCAA Division III and joined the NAC in 2008-09.  At third base, Anderson recorded 40 putouts and 57 assists, with a .924 fielding percentage.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.  The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The top Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.  First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.  The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
