Lyndonville, VT - Plymouth State University took all nine matches from Vermont State University Lyndon in Tuesday afternoon's women's tennis opener for both teams.  The Panthers only dropped a total of four games in taking the victory.

Plymouth's first doubles team of Alyssa Craigie and Elena Cardoso downed the number one Lyndon duo of Maachah Krull (Woodsville, NH) and Renee Chaples (Palmer, MA), 8-1.  The Panthers picked up 8-0 victories in the other two flights to jump in front, 3-0, heading to singles play.

Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) had the Hornets' best showing in singles play, as she took a pair of games from Plymouth's Chloe Ahern.  However Ahern came away with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in their second flight matchup.  Riley Webster (Upton, MA) was the only other Hornet to pick up a game, falling 6-1, 6-0 to Camilla Puzio at number five.  Plymouth won the other four flights without dropping a game.

The Hornets will go on the road to Massachusetts to open North Atlantic Conference play this weekend, as they face a pair of conference newcomers.  On Saturday they will play at Eastern Nazarene College at 1:00 pm.  Then they will square off against Lesley University on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
