Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Hornet women's lacrosse falls to Thomas on Senior Day

Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon couldn't keep up with Thomas College in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse game.  The Terriers scored eight unanswered goals in each of the first two quarters and cruised to a 21-1 victory.  Thomas improved to 4-8 on the season and evened their conference record at 3-3.  Lyndon closes their season winless in ten games, including five NAC starts.

Mary Larochelle led the Terriers with four goals.  Alia Chase added three goals and an assist and Lauren Barlett also scored three times.  Sage Brown scored two goals and added three assists.  Scarlett Raymond-Ayer recorded six ground balls and six caused turnovers.  Bartlett led Thomas with six draw controls.

Katie Cushing's (St. Johnsbury, VT) unassisted fourth quarter goal was the only score of the game for Lyndon.  Rachel Palladino (Manlius, NY) had a game high ten ground balls.  Alexis Leroy (St. Petersburg, FL) and Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) each caused three turnovers and Cushing was credited with a pair of draw controls.

Lizzy Gotay and Marissa Laurendeau each played a half in goal for Thomas.  Gotay made a pair of saves and earned the win.  Palladino went the distance in front of the cage for Lyndon and made 20 saves.

Sunday's game was the season finale and the final home game for Lyndon seniors Karly Cordwell (Milan, NH), Teagan Reeves (Stowe, VT), and Palladino, along with manager Kaylyn Barberet.  Prior to the game, all four were joined on the field by family and friends.  They were recognized and honored for their contributions to the Hornet women's lacrosse program.
