Box Score 2 LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Maine Maritime
Academy swept a twin bill from Lyndon State 12-0 and 23-5 in North
Atlantic Conference softball action Sunday.
In Game 1, MMA's Casey McCloskey shutout Lyndon in five
innings while giving up four hits and striking out four. McKenzie
Burke had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBI's
for the Mariners. Nicole Poland added two hits and three
RBI's while Mallery Stanley and Kayla Higgins collected two
hits each for MMA. Kathy Kline (Coventry, R.I.)
stroked two hits for Lyndon while Katelyn Willey
(Lancaster, N.H.) took the loss.
In the nightcap, Burke picked up the complete game win as she
pitched six innings giving up five runs on eight hits. She also was
4-for-5 at the plate with a home run and seven RBI's. Leah
Jackson and Megan Russell each stroked three hits for the Mariners
while McCloskey, Stanley, Brittany Hunt and Hannah Seamans all had
two hits. McCloskey and Jackson each drove in two runs.
Kline had two hits and scored two runs for the Hornets.
Melisa Morin (Lamoille, Vt.) also picked up two
hits while Willey and Heather LaValley (Wheelock,
Vt.) each had a hit and an RBI. Natalia Shams
(Swampscott, Mass.) took the loss for Lyndon.
