Hayden Bunnell

Hayden Bunnell is entering in his 3rd season has the Hornets' Cross Country Head Coach. He was named Head Cross Country Coach at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in April of 2019. He had served as the program's Assistant Coach since 2015.

Bunnell also served as the Co-Head Coach of the Hornet track and field team in the program's inaugural season in 2017.  He became the program's sole Head Coach in 2018 and served in that capacity until 2020.

Under Bunnell's direction, the cross country program has produced two First Team All-North Atlantic Conference runners, Zosia Prince and Chris Chichester.  He also guided the Hornet women to a Women's 4th place at the 2019 NAC Cross Country Championships.

A standout runner, Bunnell is a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and Colby-Sawyer College.  At Colby-Sawyer, he was a four time North Atlantic Conference 1st Team All-Conference selection, and was the NAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2011.  He was also a three time All-New England selection and two time All-ECAC selection in track and field.

Bunnell earned a Bachelor's degree and coaching certification from Colby-Sawyer in 2015.  He also holds USA Track & Field Level 2 Endurance Coaching Certification and USATF Cross Country Specialist Certification.
